What is the TR425 and what applications require it?
The TR425 is a long rubber snap-in valve stem for wheels with a 0.625-inch valve hole. It combines the extended reach of the TR414 with the wide-bore hole spec of the TR415, making it the right choice for deep-drop European-spec wheels and older domestic or commercial applications that need both a large hole and additional stem length.
How does the TR425 differ from the TR415?
Both use the 0.625-inch valve hole, but the TR425 is longer. Use the TR415 for standard wheel profiles and the TR425 when the valve hole sits deep enough in the wheel that a standard-length stem would not protrude far enough for a cap or inflation chuck.
What is the TR425 made of?
EPDM synthetic rubber body conforming to SAE J1205/J1206 standards, with a chrome-plated brass Schrader core pre-installed. EPDM resists ozone, UV, and temperature extremes better than natural rubber.
Can the TR425 be used on TPMS-equipped wheels?
No. TPMS sensors require a dedicated TPMS valve stem. The TR425 is for non-TPMS tubeless wheels only.
How often should valve stems be replaced?
OEM guidelines recommend replacing rubber valve stems every time new tires are mounted. Rubber degrades from ozone exposure, heat cycling, and age, which can cause slow leaks even when the tire itself is fine.
