When should I use a TR418 instead of a TR413?
Use the TR418 on alloy, forged, or billet wheels where rim protection matters, or when the 2-inch overall length is needed for a deep-drop wheel profile. The TR413 is the call for standard applications where length and cost are the main factors.
What is the TR418 made of?
EPDM synthetic rubber body with a reinforced metal jacket, conforming to SAE J1205/J1206 standards. The chrome-plated brass Schrader core comes pre-installed. The metal jacket adds rim protection without compromising the EPDM seal.
Can the TR418 be used on TPMS-equipped wheels?
No. TPMS sensors require a dedicated TPMS valve stem. The TR418 is for non-TPMS tubeless wheels only.
How often should valve stems be replaced?
OEM guidelines recommend replacing rubber valve stems every time new tires are mounted. Rubber degrades from ozone exposure, heat cycling, and age, which can cause slow leaks even when the tire itself is fine.
